Dublin, or Bust!

Provincetown Dramatic Arts (PDA) is headed to the INTERNATIONAL stage! And we need your help to get there!

PDA has performed at the International Dublin Gay Theatre Festival for five times. Unfortunately, COVID shut down the festival, and all theater, for the past two years. But we have been writing and waiting in the wings. Now we are ready to return to the festival and represent you in style.

PDA is performing Quickies - 4 Plays from Provincetown by Provincetown playwrights: Doug Asher-Best, Jim Dalglish, Lynda Sturner, and Margaret Van Sant; with our acting company of five superb actors from the Outer Cape: Joe MacDougall, Vanessa Rose, Ellen Rubenstein, Tia Scalcione, and Tommy Walsh; plus our tech staff of Carol Sherry.

Help us raise funds to attend the festival. Every little bit helps!

Founded in 2004 to mark the 150th anniversary of the birth of Oscar Wilde, the IDGTF has grown to become the largest festival of its kind in the world. The 18th anniversary IDGTF takes place in venues across Dublin city centre and features a diverse program of drama, musical theatre, music and comedy over two weeks.

PDA is a not-for-profit under the umbrella of its fiscal agent, the Provincetown Community Compact.

How You Can Help Us Get To Dublin To Perform

Quickies - 4 Plays from Provincetown needs your help to get to Ireland. Your contribution (of any amount) will help fund the following:

  • Roundtrip airfare from Provincetown and Boston to Dublin for the company.

  • The cost of a furnished flat (with kitchen and laundry!) in Dublin for them to stay. And presumably cook and do laundry.

  • Postcards, posters and playbills.

  • A per diem so the actors don't have to go out busking in the street! (Though they can if they want to).

  • Basic groceries to save money on dinner out.

You know our work through our outstanding productions of Our Town, Anna Christie, The Tale of the Allergist’s Wife, and our Women’s Theater Festival. We hope you will look for us this summer, as we return to the stage, and right now, we hope you can support our work to get our company to Dublin! Thank you for believing in us!
